Note: I received a free Ajman scarf from Sadaf Scarves in exchange for writing a review. As always, all opinions are my own.
My exercise routine has change a lot over the past 2 years. Over 2 years ago, I would go to the gym regularly and lift heavy weights. When I found out I was pregnant, I cancelled my gym membership and started prenatal yoga at a local yoga studio. Since I was still finishing up my Masters during my pregnancy, I would try and find different ways to stay active that would fit into my busy schedule. Sometimes that would mean a 15 minute at home workout with weights. On days I knew I would be too tired to come home and exercise, I would not get on the connecting bus that dropped me off right in front of my house. Instead, in the middle of winter, I would do a 20 minute walk to get home.
I thought staying active during my pregnancy was a challenge. Then I had my daughter and realized nothing can compare to a mommy schedule! In the past 16 months, I have had to change my exercise routine so many times to meet the demands of motherhood. Currently, I am doing a combination of at-home exercises and a lot of active family time.
The one thing that has always been a challenge for me is finding a hijab that is appropriate for working out in. To be honest, I used to just use an old cotton hijab as my "workout" hijab that would just look way too worn out and was never really that comfortable.
My life pretty much changed when I received an Ajmaan scarf from Sadaf Scarves. Not only has it become my go-to active hijab, it has also become my "mommy hijab". You know when you are running out the door with your toddler and the last thing you need is a slippery chiffon scarf?
I think this is the first time I received a hijab in the mail! I was very impressed with the packaging.
My daughter was intrigued too and wanted to be the first one to get her hands on the hijab!
Sadaf Scarves are made with lightweight bamboo cotton, making it the softest, lightest hijab EVER!
These scarves can actually be worn pin-free. However, I always wear my Ajmaan scarf with a pin to keep it safe from toddler hands!
While most of my exercising has been at home lately, on weekends we like to participate in family time that is more on the active side. Last weekend, we drove up to Hamilton, ON and went on a hike to admire the fall foliage. I loved wearing my Ajmaan scarf on the hike because it was comfortable, breathable, and moveable. When being active with other hijabs, I often found myself feeling too hot or irritated by the material. This hijab from Sadaf Scarves made me forget about my hijab while I was enjoying my hike with the family!
I got the Ajmaan scarf in Charcoal Grey, which I really love because the colour gives a very sporty vibe.
I am super excited to partner with Sadaf Scarves to host a Giveaway for 2 lucky people to receive their very own Ajmaan Scarf! To enter, head over to my Instagram and follow the directions. The most exciting part is that we will be selecting 1 Canadian winner AND 1 international winner! Contest closes on November 10th at 11:59pm EST.
